This site, now in its 27th season, is a labour of love and fun from one of Ottawa's most avid time trialists and number crunchers. It adheres to and is permitted by the laws of Canada, promotes the objectives of every bicycle club whose results are shown, and is donated free of charge by myself for your enjoyment and usage. If you would like results from series you ride in to be shown here, give me (celia.mcinnis@gmail.com) a shout!
NOTE that this site had to be quickly moved to a new server with a new version of Perl. Unfortunately the way of interacting with the web form has changed, so I'll have to do some reprogramming to get the buttons and search boxes working. Meanwhile the links work fine and you can always add query specifications into the URL! :-)

Ottawa Weather (20:00): Mostly Cloudy. Temperature: 19°C, Humidity: 88%, Dew point: 17°C, Wind: NE 6km/h, Pressure: 100.4kPa, Vis: 10km, Humidex: *.

With low air pressure (100.4kPa at the Ottawa MacDonald-Cartier air port) and single digit wind speed, excellent times were expected tonight. The fastest ride of the evening was from the team of Vet C Jon Gee, Cadet Jeremie Lacasse and Senior Brian Trafford, and Jon joked beforehand that he was riding in this team to have a chance at beating his Cadet son Derek Gee. Well, three against one, they did it with the team doing 19:20, the best team time yet this year. Derek came in second fastest with a time of 19:40, a new personal best, and only 2 seconds off of the Cadet Male 15km record of 19:38 which was set by Alex Cataford in his second year as a cadet. Derek is only in his first year as a Cadet, so he is expected to bring this record down significantly this year or next. At the other end of the age scale, Veteran E (70-79 years old) year bests were set for both genders by Hermann Kerkhoff (23:25) and Mary Ajersch (26:43), though both of them had performance ratios of less than .85 relative to the Vet E category bests that they set in earlier years (25:12 for VEF set on 2011-Aug-30 and 22:10 for VEM. Concerning the rest of us, 29 out of 66 people improved or equaled their previous season best with Alex Buffa topping the list with his 8.71% cube improvement. Better yet, 16 out of 68 bettered or met their previous database best for 15km, though the top scorers in this list have ridden only a couple of well separated time trials so far.

These results were posted on the OBC site circa 23:00 on 2012-Jul-26 and are available here for your added pleasure and analysis.

(Lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface, I wish to make it perfectly clear that I would look after the data entry. Historically, for the decade starting in 1998 I had all of the WTT series up within a few hours of the event, and likewise for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. More recently, I have written web software which can run from the start/finish lines to register, seed, calculate rider times from elapsed times and database the results immediately. The OBC Board however, not only won't let me volunteer here, but strangely enough they actually expelled me from the OBC for donating this time trial web site to you !)
