On September 20th, 2016, 7 riders started and finished the 19th and final time trial of the season. Weather Conditions at the start were sunny, 24C and with winds of 20km/h from the West-SouthWest adding to the difficulty of the return leg. The fastest rider was Joel Katz, out for his first ride on this course, and the first ABC rider was Mark Miller. Martin Deschamps not only improved upon his seaon-series best from last week's event (in which he lost time with a derailed chain at the start), but he also posted a personal course best. The rest of tonight's Clayton-experienced riders were well off of their bests, but Chad Dempsey might have been less so if he had not crashed at the turn-around with his new clip-in pedals. Next year we'll look forward to significant improvements for him. For your interest, here is a graph showing how today's participants have done in the 2016 Clayton Road time trials so far, whereas here is a graph showing all of the Clayton Road times so far in 2016. Congratulations to Michael Coldwell and Anne-Marie Carter McAuslan for topping the 2016 ABC BAR Rankings which are based upon best times for one ABC 40km time trial and three ABC 15km time trials. As well, here's a graph showing the consistency of ABC riders 15km and 40km results for the ABC BAR. It's especially interesting that Les and Anne-Marie had faster speeds in their best ABC 40km time trial than in their best 15km ABC time trial! Way to go!!!
Many thanks to all of the volunteers who helped run this series!
