This site, now in its 27th season, is a labour of love and fun from one of Ottawa's most avid time trialists and number crunchers. It adheres to and is permitted by the laws of Canada, promotes the objectives of every bicycle club whose results are shown, and is donated free of charge by myself for your enjoyment and usage. If you would like results from series you ride in to be shown here, give me (celia.mcinnis@gmail.com) a shout!
NOTE that this site had to be quickly moved to a new server with a new version of Perl. Unfortunately the way of interacting with the web form has changed, so I'll have to do some reprogramming to get the buttons and search boxes working. Meanwhile the links work fine and you can always add query specifications into the URL! :-)

This was not a fast night with the south wind causing major slowdowns for some in the stretch before the overpass. Out of the top ten riders, the only one to have a season-series best was first place woman Véronique Fortin. Her 20:31 was her best time yet on the Rockliffe Parkway course, and, of the fast women, the only ones who have gone faster are Sue Schlatter and Meshy Holt. Second place woman, Tricia Spooner (22:19) and third place Dianne Marleau (24:00) were well off of their database bests of 21:09 (2010-Aug-19) and 22:59 (2009-Sep-03), respectively. Concerning the men, Warren MacDonald did an impressive 18:49, 25 seconds off of his former course record of 18:24 which was set on 2009-Jun-11. His 6 foot five inch frame and broad shoulders require him to do much more work against the wind than the smaller people, but he's very strong and very fit! Douglas van den Ham (19:09)was second with his second best 15km time, just 6 seconds slower than his database best of 19:03. All he needs is a good day to get into the 18s. Third place Glen Rendall (19:28) was three seconds slower than his best in 2011, but 26 seconds slower than his database best of 19:02 set on 2004-Jul-29. Overall thirteen riders improved upon their previous database bests and seventeen bettered their previous season-series best, while the rest of us struggled for slower times. Regardless, each of us got to, in a good (very good!) sense, have one's cake and eat it too at the end! Thanks are extended to the moms who brought along watermelon and a large cake in celebration of the recent success of their kids at the Canadian Track Championships (11 medals in total!). Congratulations to the young riders and their coaches!
