ABC Open TT Series - 2004-Jun-01 - 15km (Tatlock Rd) (EvtFactor= 0.8298)
Weather: Dark, threatening skies. Temperature: 15&de;C, Wind: Light NW breeze.
Undeterred by the threat of rain, a field of eight reported to timekeeper, Bill Mclennan on Tuesday, June 1 for the third 15k event of the 2004 season. Heavy clouds, driven by a light northwesterly wind brought a promise of rain that failed to materialise during the event. Driven, perhaps by the thought of getting wet, riders turned out some of their best performances yet. With little more than 45 seconds separating the top three finishers, the 2004 competition promises to be interesting . The back end of the field promises to be no less so, with Geoff Shewfelt, Scottt Tyler anf Jessica Rousseau recording significant improvements and Scott Smithson showing good form in his first event of the year. At their last executive meeting, the club's officers decided to establish a competition between Mississippi Mills and Carleton Place, starting June 1, with the best three performances from each region every week to count. With Scott Tyler, the only representative from Carleton Place, this competition has yet to materialize.
