Five riders showed up to ride this last OBC open time trial of 2004, and none had ambitions of bettering their bests. Louise would be satisfied with anything better than her interrupted ride last week. Of the five, she was the only one to ride faster than last week. John, who had been improving nicely throughout the season, today had a badly out of true wheel rubbing on his brakes. Patricia laughed when reminded that she had showed up for her last chance at going sub 26 this season. Larry said that we might as well ride, since we were already wet. Celia, under the weather with a cold (as well as wet and cold under the weather), just coughed in approval. Anyway as we approached the start line shortly after 10:00, the rain stopped and even a little bit of sunshine appeared. Now if only we could get rid of that south wind! By the way, the OTT series this year was highly dominated by southerly winds (likely the toughest wind direction on our course) - 17 of the 25 OTT events had winds with a significant southerly component!
