Windy conditions and a field of sixteen competitors greeted timekeeper John Warren. Scott Smithson led the field with a performance that was just 14 seconds off his seasonal best. Kathleen Milne, fastest female, although some 45 seconds off her seasonal best, maintained an equal gap from Anne-Marie Carter McAuslan, her closest rival. Of the sixteen starters, one did not finish. Stephen King’s rear tire exploded within the last 3 kilometers, leaving him sidelined on the shoulder, while rivals John Brewster and Scott Jarvis posted PBs. John Treusch returning to competition this year after a lapse of over 7 years also posted a PB. The fourth and final PB of the day goes to Terry Munroe, riding his second 15 k of the season.
