Warm conditions and a light breeze.
Warm conditions and a light breeze helped the field of 12 competitors off to a good start. As a result of a falling headwind on the return one PB and three SBs were set. Bill Potvin headed the field with a clear victory and a 24 minute ride. Second place was hotly contested by Scott Smithson and Chris Kent. Although tired after finishing 10th in his age category in the World Masters Triathlon in Edmonton, Chris still managed to summon enough energy to remain one second ahead of Scott Smithson. Ben Brzezynski in his second ride of the season was some 45 seconds off his 3rd placing on June 14th but it was still good enough for 4th. First female, Bonnie Costello showed improved form with a sub 30 minute seasonal best, which should stand her in good stead for a triathlon in Brockville on the weekend. John Treusch improved by almost two minutes to post the only PB of the evening. John needs a further two minute improvement to close the gap on his father Bill., who himself, posted an improvement of 40 seconds to score a seasonal best.
