Weather: Warm Temperatures with a steady drizzle which stopped during the event. Calm winds.
Warm temperatures and rainclouds promised wet conditions on the Tatlock Road, yet despite the prospect of rain a field of 13 answered the call of timekeeper, Dave McAuslan. Under a steady drizzle, the riders moved out to the start, but skies cleared after the last rider took off, and sunshine peered out beneath the receding cloud. In the calm stillness that followed, Bill Potvin posted a personal best, leaving a margin of almost 30 seconds ahead of second placed Scott Smithson. In third spot, Giorgio Imbrogno trailed by 12 seconds, over a minute and a half down on his earlier form. Just 4 seconds further back, Stephen King posted a season’s best, to claim fourth. In fifth spot, Bill McLennan posted his season’s best, while 30 seconds back, Scott Jarvis posted the second personal best of the evening. Finishing in ninth spot, Kathleen Milne was first female finisher, and 40 seconds behind her, Anne-Marie Carter-McAuslan posted the evening’s third PB.
