ABC Open TT Series - 2005-Jun-21 - 15km (Tatlock Rd) (EvtFactor= 0.8699)
Weather: Light Rain. Warm Temperatures. No wind.
The promise of rain proved no deterrent to the five who answered timekeeper, John Warren’s call to the start of the Tatlock Road time trial. The riders were not to be disappointed. Light rain began to fall soon after the clock had started. Clouds were not without their silver lining, however. In this case it was in terms of the warm, windless conditions that prevailed. Scott Smithson was first home with a result that fell just 12 seconds short of his season’s best. The only rider to achieve this distinction was Peter Hicks who improved by 6 seconds, having recently boosted his season’s total mileage by 442 km in a ride from Val d’Or to Hull. Peter’s 3 day marathon was a fund raiser for ‘Jump Start’ an athletics and health awareness program at the Caldwell St Public School in Carleton Place. Meanwhile Bob Woods managed to tie his previous 2005 ATT mark, set on May 31. To see a graph showing how tonight's riders have progressed with their 2005 ATT 15km performances, you may click here.
