Cool and windy with high air pressure, this was not an easy night. Despite being late in the season when most of us are at our fittest, the EventFactor, was only lower on three of the eleven earlier 15km WTT nights. You may click here to see the days and conditions when each of us had our best 15km time of 2008. Tonight, four of us improved upon our previous WTT bests, and Celia had the excuse of having her tire pressure nine times higher than the air pressure this week. If you want to see the the rankings of this year's WTT participants sorted by category and then the average of the best five average speeds, you may click here. You can one simple measure of the consistency of riders by looking at the standard deviation of the average speeds - interestingly enough we have a tie for the most consistent between Mary and Lisa! A better method of calculating consistency would be to calculate the standard deviation of the performance ratios relative to each person's fastest speed in the WTT events of 2008. Again, Lisa and Mary are tied. Measures of consisency can also be calculated using the software on this site, but considering all of the purchases this year of performance enhancing equipment, we'll have to do some deliberations with the experts - input is welcome!
