This was the second OBC 40km time trial of 2014, and it was about 5°C cooler, 10km/h windier and with 1.2kPa lower air pressure today than at the first one. Anything gained from the tail wind on the way out this morning was more than lost on the way back, but lower air pressure is always beneficial and some like cooler temperatures. This allowed 4 of the 6 riders who had done both time trials to improve - Good riding to Robert DeVidi (the most improved 1.0740), Martin Skody, Joel Katz (the fastest of the morning with 56:39), and Craig Burge. Congratulations to Ian Austen and Ryan Phelps for setting new personal bests for the Heckston course. Kudos also to Mark Douglas for sticking it out on his fixed gear bicycle - It was not an easy return into the wind without the aid of some lower gears! Way to go to the rest of the riders for showing up to place in the top fourteen, and of course thanks to Stephanie Rees and Alex McKnight for running this event.
