The 17:00 monsoon likely scared away most riders, but twenty people showed up to ride. Two flat tires to one of the riders in the leadoff team left eighteen of us to ride and finish this windy time trial. It was pretty difficult going out, but quick on the return leg. Five of the eighteen riders managed to improve upon their previous season series best. The most improved of these with ahuge 13.19% cube speed ratio was Ryan Phelps (21:21) was the only rider to post a new database personal best at 54 seconds faster than his previous best! It was great to have professional rider Alex Cataford here tonight. He seems to have recovered from the terrible mishap he had back in January when he was hit by a motorist in Tuczon and left with a shattered jaw, 10 fewer teeth, a broken vertebra in his neck and a concussion. He tied for first place tonight with Glen Rendall at 19:35. Second fastest timed Joel Katz (20:27), healed from his broken pelvis in June, was just 4 seconds off of the season's best he set last week, while Craig Burge (20:59) posted a season series best and the third fastest time on Ryder Hejedahl's former bike. For the women, there were only three of us. Junior rider Katherine Maine was first with 22:31, 91.80% of her previous season series best of 21:53. Dianne Marleau was second with 24:13, 5.46% faster than her previous season series best of 24:39 way back on 2014-Jun-05. Celia McInnis (26:00) managed to pull off third merely by showing up, depite the pools of water in her shoes! She was a minute and 4 seconds off of her season's best set on Tuesday in the WTT.
