This site, now in its 27th season, is a labour of love and fun from one of Ottawa's most avid time trialists and number crunchers. It adheres to and is permitted by the laws of Canada, promotes the objectives of every bicycle club whose results are shown, and is donated free of charge by myself for your enjoyment and usage. If you would like results from series you ride in to be shown here, give me (celia.mcinnis@gmail.com) a shout!
NOTE that this site had to be quickly moved to a new server with a new version of Perl. Unfortunately the way of interacting with the web form has changed, so I'll have to do some reprogramming to get the buttons and search boxes working. Meanwhile the links work fine and you can always add query specifications into the URL! :-)

Many thanks to paparazzo Morley Dore for catching the excitement tonight in photos - especially at the busy finish line!

We welcomed one new rider, Jaqueline Szeto tonight with a great first time of 25:51. We will look forward to many improvements as she gets more experienced and better equipped with aerodynamic gear. Congratulations to the three people who improved upon their previous database bests. The most improved of these was Cadet Alexandra Bouchard with 30:17, a 7.27% cube speed improvement from her previous best of 31:00. It was nice to see her riding on the drops of her handebars for a more aerodynamic position, and it was fun catching her within the last 100 meters and challenging her to a sprint to the finish. She won this by a fraction of a centimeter depite my best attempt. Lots of fun! The second most improved was the fastest lady, Tricia Spooner with a 1.92% improvement for 21:01. This is close enough to the 20-somethings that she can't retire from the sport yet! The third database improver was Minime male Bryce Guitor with a 1% improvement for 25:02. I like the picture of Tricia glancing over at him as she passes near the finish line. Bryce is just 13 years old. It will be interesting to see how many years it takes for Bryce to get strong enough to ride faster than Tricia. Note that tonight was a slightly better than average night than what we have had so far - No rain, not too much wind and not too high air pressure let 7 of us improve upon our previous season-series best and put the average of the performance ratios greater than one at 1.0086 (see the 2nd line below the table of entries). We hope to see more riders out next week! Here are the current category speed rankings for the WTT awards if 5 events (with at least 4 15km) were required, and here are the current category speed rankings if 4 events (with at least 3 15km) are required. There are 3 more Tuesdays before the banquet to reach the required number of WTT events.

These results were posted on the OBC site circa 02:00 on 2014-Jul-30 and are available here for your added pleasure and analysis.
