A very nice night drew 16 women out to ride this 10km time trial, though one, Prapti Jensen, who was among the fastest of the female bicycle racers a couple of decades ago, couldn't ride because of not having done the requisite online registration. She hopes to do so before Thursday's time trial. Of the rest of us, Jennifer Stephenson, arrived from the wrong registration location just in time to go first and be first with the best WTT 10km time this year - 14:38 (41.002 km/h). Claude Dréano was second in 15:41 (38.257 km/h) and Jill Donak took third place with 16:32 (36.290 km/h). Just five seconds slower in fourth place was the birthday girl, Dianne Marleau. Happy Birthday Dianne - You know how to celebrate! Concerning the rest of us, Patricia Slaunwhite, or at least her tire, blew up at the mid point, where she could conveniently catch a ride back with Morley. I also took a bit of a break at the turn around to look at some cars (and no, I'm not considering ever buying one!), but got moving again just as Barbara Wilson caught up to me. Everyone who had ridden an earlier 2014 WTT event improved upon their season-series best, and Angela Beauchamps managed to improve upon her previous 10km Database best. Good riding and lots of good fun!
