Thanks to Morley Dore for taking photos as we registered, turned and finished. Thanks also to Mike MacKay for taking pictures of our starts and finishes - His photos can be seen at http://www.mikemackay.ca/set_browse.php?set=285. Thanks as well to the rest of the fine volunteers who make this event happen!
With a starting temperature of 25°C, no wind and air pressure of 100kPa, formidable volunteer timekeeper and coach Jim Glover declared the conditions to be ideal for PBs, and indeed eight of the 15 women out today improved upon their previous database best for 15km. The most improved in this regard (14.78% in terms of cube speed) was 16 year old Alexandra Bouchard, but equally impressive in a different way were the improvments of Sandra Bender (6.09%) and Christa Ramonat (1.55%) who have been riding time trials for 15 and 18 years, respectively! In terms of season-series improvements, 13 of the 14 who had ridden a previous 15km WTT event improved upon their previous best 15km WTT of 2015. Congratulations! For your interest, here are the category rankings of those who have done at least five WTTs in 2015 with at least 4 of them being 15km events. If you're not yet on this list, come out and ride some more WTT events!
