It was nice to not have to contend with gale force winds tonight, and with the breeze shifting from the NW to ENE during the event, some may have even had a little assistance on both the outward and return legs! Thirty-nine of tonight's forty-eight entrants had ridden at least one OBC Open Time Trial earlier this year, and eighteen of these improved upon their season-series best. The most improved of these, with a 31.05% cube speed improvement, was tonight's first place finisher, junior rider Connor Byway at 19:35 (45.879km/h). We hope that this means that he has recovered from the respiratory illness that he had prior to his first TT attempt this season. Congratulations to John Balint who in his 72nd year matched his previous database best of 24:45 which was first set more than 15 years ago on 2000-Jun-01! High Fives to the 10 younger people who bettered their previous database best. The improvements of Cadet rider Carson Miles over the last few years - 21:00 tonight (42.857km/h) have been exciting to watch, and we will cheer when Joachim Toelke, second tonight with a new PB of 20:01, takes another couple of seconds of to go sub 20 minutes. Good riding all!
