The first event of the Almonte 40k series attracted a field of sixteen. A westerly breeze afforded light resistance on the outward leg.

At the head of the pack it was a close contest between Ron Amos and Mike Nash,while, among the ladies it was a closely fought battle between Dianne Marleau and Kody McDonald.
