The air pressure was again high to the detriment of fast times, but the winds were light and in the most favourable direction. Forty of the sixty-seven finishers who had previously ridden in this series improved upon their 2005 OTT best 15km with eight of those improving by more than 10%, while 23 entrants improved upon their previous 15km database best. Most impressive in terms of the category performances were those of PWF rider Stephanie Gould and MIM rider Andrew Lattimore. Stephanie smashed through the 30 minute barrier with 55 seconds to spare, an incredible 59 seconds faster than her WTT result two days earlier. In doing so, she set the fastest PWF time currently in my database since the PW category was redefined in 1997. Andrew, out for only his second OTT event, decreased his time by a huge amount, one minute and 23 seconds, since last week, and in doing so reset the best 2005 MIM 15km time.
