OBC Open TT Series - 2008-Jul-31 - 15km (Rockliffe Pkwy) (EvtFactor= 0.9557)

These results were first posted on the OBC site circa 11:00 on 2008-Jul-31 and are available here for your added pleasure and analysis.

Due to the very strong winds from the Northwest at registration time, nobody thought that this past Thursday would be a fast night, but the winds dropped as the evening proceeded, and this, along with the low air pressure contributed to some incredible results. A big congratulation goes to Michael Nash for breaking, by one second, the long-standing record set of 18:40 by Gord Fraser back on 1995-Jun-22! As well, there were All-time database bests in 6 different categories:

Audrey Bernard, out for her first OBC time trial set a CAF record,
Michael Nash set the new VBM standard.
Erika Revesz took another second off of the VCF record,
Paul Datars continued his record-breaking VCM performances with a 19 second improvement,
Hermann Kerckhoff, tonight with no brakes impeding his progress, took another 12 seconds off of the VEM record hitting 23:00 flat,
and 80 year old Geoffrey Wright, was 25 seconds faster than his previous VFM mark.

In addition to the top category performances, 47 people bettered or equaled their previous 2008 OTT best and 34 improved upon their previous database best 15km TT. Good riding!
