This site, now in its 27th season, is a labour of love and fun from one of Ottawa's most avid time trialists and number crunchers. It adheres to and is permitted by the laws of Canada, promotes the objectives of every bicycle club whose results are shown, and is donated free of charge by myself for your enjoyment and usage. If you would like results from series you ride in to be shown here, give me (celia.mcinnis@gmail.com) a shout!
NOTE that this site had to be quickly moved to a new server with a new version of Perl. Unfortunately the way of interacting with the web form has changed, so I'll have to do some reprogramming to get the buttons and search boxes working. Meanwhile the links work fine and you can always add query specifications into the URL! :-)

Though nine of these results were first posted on the OBC web site circa 10:30 on 2009-Jun-26, due to problems with the OBC tt input software, the rest of the results did not appear until about 14:30 on 2009-Jun-28. I continue to offer my volunteer labour and software towards the accuracy/promptness of our displayed results. It may be time for cranky politics to take a back seat to skill, dedication and fun!

Wow, there were some fantastic performances tonight! First place Douglas van den Ham took more than half a minute off of his previous best to post his first sub-20 minute time, while Sue Schlatter took another two seconds off of her PB and moved to only 13 seconds off of the all-time women's course record. There were excellent age-category performances as well. Certainly Sue Schlatter continues to better the Vet B women. Matteo Dal-Cin set an all-time best for the Junior male category with his first sub-20 time, 25 seconds faster than Andrew Lattimore's previous mark set in 2008. At the other edge of the age categories, Rick Sudac, who continues to add to the top of the Veteran D male list, did 20:05, and is almost certain to bring that record to below 20 minutes. In terms of personal bests, of the 60 who had ridden earlier in the 2009 OTT series, 39 improved and 2 tied their previous 2009 OTT best, whereas 21 of 68 riders improved upon their previous database best. It is interesting to look at tonight's results in terms of the age-handicapping method currently used in the OBC, or more interestingly for the women and older people, at the age-gender handicaps generated from the British VTTA method.

The humour of the evening was provided by Kevin Graves, AKA "Gravy". About a kilometer into his ride, his seat post slipped down about 10". Since he was on a fixed gear bike, standing was not a viable option, so he continued riding, in his words, "like a clown", seated with his knees flailing out to the sides to avoid hitting the handlebars - He enjoyed himself and was pleased with his time considering the circumstances.
