This site, now in its 27th season, is a labour of love and fun from one of Ottawa's most avid time trialists and number crunchers. It adheres to and is permitted by the laws of Canada, promotes the objectives of every bicycle club whose results are shown, and is donated free of charge by myself for your enjoyment and usage. If you would like results from series you ride in to be shown here, give me (celia.mcinnis@gmail.com) a shout!
NOTE that this site had to be quickly moved to a new server with a new version of Perl. Unfortunately the way of interacting with the web form has changed, so I'll have to do some reprogramming to get the buttons and search boxes working. Meanwhile the links work fine and you can always add query specifications into the URL! :-)

John Warren comments: "This was our first 40k TT for our 27th year of Time Trials and nine riders arrived at Franktown Christian Academy parking lot to cool 19 C, wind S 10-15 kph and sunny conditions. Eight riders finished, but Rod Diaz DNF due to a flat tire at the 5k distance. The fastest overall was Colin Campbell (OBC) in a time of 62:23. Fastest female was Angela Beauchamp (OBC)in a time of 79:58. Fastest from ABC was Mark Miller in a time of 73:11; fastest ABC female was Celia McInnis in a time of 81:25."

Celia McInnis comments: "Well the railroad track near the start was removed, and the two gravel stretches from recent construction were all paved over, so we could have done worse than we did, but somehow this was a very slow ride for all entrants. The four of us who had ridden this course last year were all considerably slower than our best, achieving only 77.18-83.12% of our previous best cube speed on this course! Note that comparing results in terms of cube speed is done because power usage in cycling goes up much like the cube of ones speed - two powers for air resistance and one power for rolling resistance. The wind felt tough, especially on the way out, but the biggest detriment was probably the extremely high air pressure. Congratulations to Larry Burge for being the closest to his best on this course with a .8312 cube speed ratio, all the more impressive since he might have lost as much as a minute when a tandem truck tried repeatedly to turn onto the road from a farm lane! As for the worst of the repeat offenders, Celia McInnis (that's me!) had a really hard time, probably not from all the fun she had at VeloFest the night before, but rather from a badly constricted throat. Nope, the lilac capital of Ontario likely caused her to get more work per unit speed. Anyway, John Warren indicated that they will actually have a paved bicycle lane along this route for the next 40km time trial on Sunday July 6th, so come on out and have a go at this course.

Our 2nd 40 K TT; Sunday, July 6; meet at Franktown Christian Academy parking lot; registration at 7:45 am with start at 8:15 am on CR 10 (Perth Road). Please call John Warren at 613 256 3195 or jsherry231@gmail.com before noon Sat. to indicate intention to ride.
