With full sunshine and no prediction of rain for today or the next week, 97 people registered and finished tonight's time trial. This was the biggest turnout of the season. With the fairly high air pressure and sidewinds from the north, many people found this to be a slow night. Regardless, 30 people equaled or improved upon their season series best and 11 even improved upon their previous 15km database best! Congratulations to Minime rider Carson Miles for posting the biggest improvement in his 15km database best with a 10.72% improvement. We will see many more improvements from him as he gets older, more experienced and better equipped - He is hoping for some aero bars for his birthday. Quite noteworthy among the database improvers are three riders who have been frequent competitors, namely Junior woman Katherine Maine in 21:53 with a 3.93% improvement, Robyn Angeles in 22:11 with a 2.73% improvement and Alexandre Michel in 19:45 with a 0.76% improvement. Note that Katherine Maine's 21:53, in her first year as a Junior, is the second fastest Female Junior time in my database, exceeded only once by Denise Ramsden with her 21:35 record in her second year as a Junior. Way to go Katherine for this and your third place finish for the women after Annie Foreman-Mackey (21:27) and Kelly Knowles (21:38). Congratulations also to the three fastest men who each improved upon their season-series best - Aaron Fillion was first with 18:13 the best OTT time thus far in 2014, Warren MacDonald was 2nd in 19:13, and Junion rider Derek Gee was 3rd with 19:27.
