Mary Ajersch's S.S. & C.K.O (Street Sweeper and Carcass Kicker Offer) Report - 2003 Sep 11

Hi Celia,

I ventured out this afternoon with my trusty brush to perform my unofficial task as Street Sweeper and Carcass Kicker Offer, but once again I failed to complete both my tasks.

  1. After the turnaround I was confronted with huge clods of dirt strew along the shoulder of the road, all the way up the overpass. Diligent person that I am, I dismounted my bike and attempted to brush off the debris. When this didn't work, I proceeded to kick these huge lumps of clay into the ditch. This became a daunting time-consuming task. What I needed was a huge shovel and push broom--difficult to put into my jersey pocket. I finally gave up when I arrived at the top of the overpass, and noticed the downside was also littered with clods of clay.

  2. Next to the Ogilvie Road pathway, I stopped to kick off a squirrel carcass located to the left of the white line. But alas it's innards were dangling about. I refuse to kick off a carcass if it's innards are outwards. They tend to tangle around a cycling shoe.

Alas, I failed as the unofficial SS & CKO; however, I appeased my conscience by forewarning Time Trialists at the outset of the TT.

Bye,

Mary
