Though the Rockliffe Parkway was still closed to motor traffic after 18:00 tonight, we chose to use it (along with quite a few packs of rollerbladers), bypassing the barracades near the start and finish. Apart from the first and last 1.75km or so, the course was extremely smooth and very enjoyable to ride upon, and the good times tonight reflect that. Doug van den Ham joked of quitting while he was ahead after his 21:03 first place finish - A PB by a minute and 10 seconds. Erika Revesz, first amongst the women in 22:39, achieved not only a season's best by 55 seconds but also an improvement of 11 seconds on her previous PB of 22:50 met twice on 1994-Jul-19 and 2004-Jun-24! Others were equally ecstatic with their improvements. Sixteen out of 22 riders improved upon their previous 2007 OTT best 15km race, with six of those upping their cube-speed by more than 10%. Ten people actually improved upon their 15km database personal best. Among these PB people was Gary Romkey, who improved the VDM 15km record by five seconds.

The official results were posted on 2007-Aug-21 circa 15:00 - I have offered to provide same-day accurate service, and am looking forward to helping here next year...
