This site, now in its 27th season, is a labour of love and fun from one of Ottawa's most avid time trialists and number crunchers. It adheres to and is permitted by the laws of Canada, promotes the objectives of every bicycle club whose results are shown, and is donated free of charge by myself for your enjoyment and usage. If you would like results from series you ride in to be shown here, give me (celia.mcinnis@gmail.com) a shout!
NOTE that this site had to be quickly moved to a new server with a new version of Perl. Unfortunately the way of interacting with the web form has changed, so I'll have to do some reprogramming to get the buttons and search boxes working. Meanwhile the links work fine and you can always add query specifications into the URL! :-)

Earlier predictions of evening rain and thunder storms did not materialize, and 53 riders came out to do this second last OBC 15km time trial of 2012. The biggest concern for the organizers at registration time was the traffic jam that had cars backed up on the parkway for several kilometers before our turn-around point. The culvert collapse on the Queensway in Orleans on Tuesday left motorists in need of another route home, and with so many chosing the Rockliffe Parkway, it would have been virtually impossible for riders to do safe and efficient turns. There was some thought of doing just a 7.5km time trial from the usual turn-around back to the finish line, but soon after 18:00, the traffic had cleared and the normal 15km time trial was held. There were still occasional strings of ten or so vehicles which may have impeded some riders at the turn-around. It was a little breezy (NNW 21km/h) for the early riders tonight, but as the wind dropped, the air pressure rose to offset any advantage for the later starters. Eight people registered improvements upon their previous 15km Database best and the improvement for third placed Marcel Lavoie (19:41) was a huge cube speed ratio of 1.2318, while Alexis Dallaire (21:58) had a ratio of 1.1206. Kudos also for second placed Mason Hanrahan (19:33) whose 1.10814 improvement put him below 20 minutes (well below!) for the first time! Of the women, only one, Kelly McKean (23:19) posted a new database best. She was also the fastest woman of the night, followed closely by Ellen Pazdzior (23:21) in second, and by Carol Deavy (23:33) for third. The fastest man of the night was Douglas van den Ham (19:17) who has been faster than 20 minutes for every one of his thirteen 15km time trials so far this year. Way to go!

These results were posted on the OBC site circa 21:30 on 2012-Sep-06 and are available here for your added pleasure and analysis.

(Lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface, I wish to make it perfectly clear that I would look after the data entry. Historically, for the decade starting in 1998 I had all of the WTT series up within a few hours of the event, and likewise for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. More recently, I have written web software which can run from the start/finish lines to register, seed, calculate rider times from elapsed times and database the results immediately. The OBC Board however, not only won't let me volunteer here, but strangely enough they actually expelled me from the OBC for donating this time trial web site to you !)
