This was the easiest 2004 WTT night so far. Eleven of the fourteen starters who had already ridden a 2004 WTT 15km event improved upon their times, while the other three were well within 5% of their best performance (as rated by the cube ratio of speeds) for the current year and series. Back to speed, accolades to Caroline Ross whose 39 second improvement over her previous PB put her in first place for the first time ever. One of the most interestingly impressive of these is the Aug 21 2001 result in which Mary Ajersch, then in her 61st year(!), won the event by 1:14 despite falling off of her brand new bike at the 14km mark! The 24:20 time which she rode that day still stands as the VDF 15km club record.
